On average, one loses 50-200 hairs a day, which sounds like a lot, but the average human head has 100,000 hair strands with new ones growing daily to replace those that fall. This is generally noticed on the pillow, hair brush and even by bald patches, but further hair breakage can be prevented once it has started.
