Skin Care Tip #1 – Cleanse Daily
Cleanse your face twice per day, once in the morning for a clean, fresh palette and once before going to bed at night. This will ensure that you sleep make-up-free, unclogging the pores to let your skin breathe and recover while you sleep.
Skin Care Tip #2 – Moisturize Regularly
As important as cleansing your skin, moisturizing must be part of your daily, and nightly, routine. Once skin is properly cleansed, apply an extra hydrating moisturizer. One good tip is to apply your choice of moisturizer immediately after your shower (preferably 3-5 minutes when the skin is still damp). Your pores are likely to stay open for a few minutes after exposure to water so this ensures that your moisturizer seeps into the skin more efficiently.
Skin Care Tip #3 -- Exfoliate
Jump-start the renewal process of your skin by exfoliating. This helps remove dead skin cells, thus helping your moisturizer work their best. If you have dry skin, use a gentle scrub 2-3 times per week. In no time you will notice how much softer your skin is as a result of exfoliation.
Skin Care Tip #5 -- Hydrate
Although not everyone agrees on the exact amount of water we should drink each day, everyone does agree how important proper hydration is for healthy skin. The general advice is to make sure to drink 8 full glasses of good, clean water a day. Water helps to keep cells hydrated and helps move nutrients in and toxins out, thus leaving skin looking better.
Skin Care Tip #6 – No Smoking
Healthy skin depends on the good circulation of highly oxygenated blood to carry nutrients to the skin and remove waste products from it. Smoking in general, and nicotine in particular, cause a decreased blood flow to the extremities. In addition, smoking produces carbon monoxide, which severely impairs oxygen from even entering the blood.
Skin Care Tip #7 – Score Enough Sleep
As a general rule, it's usually 7-8 hours. Make sure you get as much sleep as you can. When you don't get enough sleep, your cells do not have enough time to repair themselves, ageing skin quicker.
