The pros and cons of hair extensions

Author: Zoe Robinson
It is coming up to 2012 very soon, and if you are thinking about creating a ‘new you' for the new year ahead and have been playing with the idea of getting some hair extensions put in, we have some valuable pointers designed to help you with the decision making process.

There are many types to choose from. Clip in, human, pre-bonded and lots, lots more meaning it can be quite confusing if you are deciding what to do and have never experienced such an accessory before. Personally I could not imagine having really short hair and if you do have a pixie cut and want to know what having long hair would be like or whether you would suit it or not then having these put in is an easy way find out.
Here is a list of a few pros and cons that have been culminated:
Pros:
  • Get to see what you would look like with a different hair style
  • Can easily switch between having long and short hair if they are gripped or clipped in.
  • Can easily have them taken out if you do not like them should they be of clip in style.
  • Decent quality is easy to locate and can be cost effective, great to know if you decide you would like to keep using them.
  • You can have clip in styles put in at first and then if you really like them you can have human or pre-bonded put in.
Cons:
  • Should you choose salons the stars visit, this game can become very expensive, especially if you require them to be a permanent fixture.
  • Hair needs extra special treatments and products in order to maintain a healthy look. This can prove time consuming.
  • Correct brushes need to be purchased so that hair can be looked after well.
Whilst I have established three cons, these are easy recognisable issues that can be used as part of the decision making process. If adhered to, this fantastic new look will ensure you always look the part and that hair remains healthy and full of life.
If you do decide to try out such a style, and want hair to look as natural as possible then try some human hair extensions. These will feel a lot nicer than artificial hair and you are more likely to find a colour match or be able to dye it as close to your natural colour as possible.
