I visited the DC Shoes showroom to take a look at what is in store for the first new range of DC footwear for 2013. So, while we were there, we thought we would take a few sneaky snaps of some of the new models, colourways and colabs that really caught our eye.
DC Shoes is one of the largest skate and action sports brands around. From humble beggingins they've grown to be the defining brand in the industry.
They've encourntered a huge amount of success down to the former founder of the company, Ken Block. Ken has become an internet sensation, with his Gymkhana series of videos. The videos feature Ken driving his Ford Fiesta (originally a Subaru Impreza) around various different location. When he's doing this, he's usually going sideways, with a lot of tyre smoke and a number of obstacles in the way! The series has experienced more than 150,000,000 views on Youtube over the years, and with the release of the new one this looks set to sky rocket even further. It's without a doubt one of the biggest action brands in the world, and the shoe range reflects it!
First up are the new Travis Pastrana collaborations. Fans will notice a colourway that evokes his Red Bull sponsorship and Dodge Dart Rallycross livery. To keep a little air of mystery, we won't give too much away (although most sneaker freaks will probably be able to work out the exact model) but these pics will still give you a great idea of what's in store...
As well as the Unilite shoe, DC will also be releasing a new Travis Pastrana Spartan Hi shoe, which has some cool carbon fibre detailing on the tongue.
Continuing on the collaboration front, DC have another collaboration with Nate Adams glove brand, Deft family. It's a really cool shoe, and we've got another sneak peak image!
It looks like DC are really stepping it up with the new range, and the Unlite range is becoming even more a part of the range. Having felt the Unilite shoe, they're incredibly light and mark a new direction to take for the company. The Unilite material is going to be featured on more and more of the shoe range, including the spartan range.
