Wool scarves and wool shawls are a must have accessories for fall winter and spring. Wool scarves are now not only limited to women, as they have become a unisex item. More men prefer these scarves than women. They use different scarves for different occasions. Winter is a time when everyone should have scarves with to cover or wrap themselves. The available variety of fabrics, shapes and sizes make the scarf ideal for all seasons and occasions.

The scarves differ from each other on the basis of fabric or material used to make them. They also differ to great extent in their prices also. These woolen scarves are available at affordable prices, within the reach of a common man. These woolen scarves and stoles are replacing the shawls as they both protect people from cold winter as well as reveal the beauty at the same time.
There are different types of wool scarves available in the market:
  • Woolen Scarves: No one can really tell when the first woolen scarf was invented, but if we check our history we can say that in ancient times people used to wrap themselves with a fabric made of goat's wool or fleece. So with the evolution of time people started calling these fabrics as shawls and now as scarves. Woolen Scarves are available in different patterns like with embroidery, flowers etc. These woolen scarves are made of 100 percent pure wool and provide complete warmth.
  • Pashmina Scarves: Pashmina scarves are one of the most popular scarves among women. These scarves are adorned with exquisite embroidery and are extremely soft. The main types of embroidery done on the Pashmina scarves are sozni, papier-mache and aari. Pashmina scarves are made from fur of special breed of sheep. The fur is of fine quality and the price also depends upon the type of wool and material used.
  • Shahtoosh Scarves: Shahtoosh scarves are made from the hair of the Tibetan Antelope. This Tibetan Antelope is found in the plateau of Tibet or in the eastern part of Ladakh at an altitude of above 5,000 meters. These scarves are light in weight, extreme warm and soft as they are made from pure yarn. Shahtoosh scarves are very expensive because of scarcity of raw material. They can be dyed and have little bit of embroidery on it. In order to provide extreme warmth to the body Shahtoosh yarn is mixed with Pashmina yarn.
