Getting ready for a girl involves a lot of decisions, unlike in case of men. They usually just cannot afford to throw on a shirt over a pair of jeans and put on the first pair of shoes that they can lay their hands on. Things have to actually match! And by match – girls do not just mean colors, but they also mean ‘match' the style, ‘match' the mood, and ‘match' the occasion.
The clothes have to look right, because unlike the man's wardrobe, women actually have a lot of options to choose from. Jeans, skirts, party gowns, salwaar kameez, sarees, etc- they all give different looks and are suitable for different occasions. A short skirt may make them look like a ‘wannabe' if they are going for a religious gathering, but it could be perfect when she hits the club. A ‘saree' may look out of place if it is a picnic with friends, but perfect at the friend's marriage.
Then there are clothes like jeans, salwaar kameez etc that could look great and improper at the same time depending on the perception of the people at the gathering. So clothes could be a really touchy subject.
Next comes the shoes. The heels look great but are usually not comfortable and the regular converse or flat slippers just do not look great with all kinds of dresses (imagine a woman wearing cowboy boots on a lehenga! Sounds hilarious doesn't it?!). Similar problems are related to make up and accessories. If it sounds confusing to you already, imagine having to deal with it reality!
The truth is that nobody wants to look out of place, or stand out too loud. Every girl wants people to appreciate her beauty, but does not want to look like she tries too hard for it or that she is obsessed with her looks! A girl is haunted by innumerable worries every time she has to step out that door, because she knows how important it is for women in this world to look good.
