You go shopping and spend half of your wages on a dress you saw on Sienna Miller in the last issue of Vogue, then you get it home, try it on and it looks hideous – really, horrifyingly unflattering. Fine – you still have the tag and receipt so you can return it to the shop the following day.
Hair, however, does not come with the same detachability. If you get a bad haircut, you can't take it off and give it back – ‘thanks, but this doesn't suit me'. Unfortunately, you're stuck with it for the near future. Granted a bad colour can usually be changed but a truly bad cut in the grand scheme of personal aesthetic horrors – is right up there with three shades of fake tan too far the day before your wedding day. To avoid having to hear the so-called words of comfort ‘don't worry, it'll grow back' come their way ever again, some decide to go down the route of sourcing top London hair stylists – the more celebrity tresses they've tousled, the better. But these top hair salons in London come with a hefty price tag. With this price tag, are you guaranteed to get a really, really great cut?
For those people who take a cut out from a magazine of a celebrity or model hair with great hair, the main benefit of going to top hair salons London is that the celeb hairdresser in question just might have done the hair of the celebrity and thus know the cut perfectly, or alternatively, is technical enough to build the style to suit your face or age – or anything standing between you being Kate Moss's long lost twin. These are good skills for any hairdresser to have – but let's be honest, these aren't exclusive to the cream of the crop of London hair stylists – you could very reasonably expect this from salon chains like Toni & Guy. However, for those women walking through the door of the salon with no idea what they want – there is definitely a case for using one of the various celebrity hair salons, London wide. It can be assumed that those going into a salon with no idea what they want are the ones who want ‘the big cut' and in this case – there is only one clear route - If you have the money, go straight to the top! This doesn't mean parting with copious amounts of cash for each monthly trim; you can nip to your local hairdresser and firmly request ‘just a trim'- and head back to your top London hair salon when it needs an update, or when you feel like a new style. It's a tough call to make, especially if you're not used to splashing your cash, or don't have the cash to splash – but for the ‘big' cut, don't skimp on cost. Remember, a bad haircut can't be exchanged or returned –you're stuck with it until it grows out. If you're one of those lucky people who has found their perfect hairdresser in their local salon, at local prices – hold on to that, you lucky thing!
